Any one else had unusual issues with Blogger? While it shows me as looged in any attempts to go the the Dashboard return a bx error. Any attempts to go to www.blogger.com also returns the same bx error.

Back and forth Bourdain marathon and Gustav coverage. Mildly confusing. Wonderfully stimulating. Want to cook all day. Drink Rum and stay dry not cry.

NOLA being belted by wind and rain. A great city under stress again. Why do we build them so near hell.

Amazing all civilization grows from its ports. Those are always vulnerable to the vagaries of the weather.

Ernie lives in New Orleans. He is staying put. he intends to update thru his blog as long as he has power. He's also updating his twitter stream @ernieattorney . Should be quite interesting. He held out quite a while during katrina then eventually left town.

So with the WSOP having its summer hiatus till November, what will the November Nine do?

Vin Narayanan of Casino City Times has coaching suggestions. A better question would be how would you structure the compensation for such tutelage?

Percentages flat fees what would your choice be? Remember as I think I do that all would be paid at least 9th place before the Final Table (900K as I read the payouts.)

Coaching Arrangements might be very interesting.

Guy Kawaskai started alltop.com based on the wonderful ideas of popurls.com. Both of these sites are wonderful. You could waste days perusing the now 120 topics of alltop. Some have lead me to wonderful things, some have disappointed. But its always fascinating.

Several other aggregators that i look at are Freshnews.org , tech.newsjunk.com and techmeme.

Jeremy Zawodny, a voice that I have paid attention to for several years, has an interesting post up about Online Apps.

I am always surprised when i show Google Apps to people that they have not discovered these gems themselves. Google Apps can do almost everything one needs to create effective documents. And they keep adding new features quickly and quietly.

This map shows a distribution of the worlds religions. Very nice.
Also shows the current distribution in pie chart with some future projections. This is a large one.

I found that using F11 (view fullscreen) that it fit into my 1280x1024 screen.

Boy are there a lot of options out there.

In the past I have praised the virtues of itasoftware. Now there are many more wonderful choices out there.
Among those that I like are two that both probably are built upon the itasoftware engine.
Kayak is nice. I have seen the founders on TV and they seemed very down to earth. A good tool.

My Current fav is built ontop of kayak (at least it gives credit to kayak on some of its result pages) FareCompare does a couple of interesting things. One is the grand scan. When are the lowest priced flights? Shows you a year.
Neat.

Also does some neat drilling down into the fares. Neither Kayak or FareCompare are booking sites, you make your own choices about where to buy. Also great fun to plan that dream vacation

Ever wonder how the airlines get their software. Turns out they buy a lot.
The Company below has agreat trial application that is a joy to use for comparing airfare. which by the way is a very competitive field.

This may be the oracle. This page makes my query resistant skull vibrate. Its gotta be a slew of static queries rebuilt on a timely basis.

for a wonderful example look at Month long search for September. lets choose nyc-aua as a comparison tool.
Jet Blue enters this route 9/15. See how the rates change. THis will eventually blow out to any jetblue served markets.
A neat Visual look at a disruption in a set market. (Choose the graphical view in your results.) Very Neat stuff.

Picasa for Linux

Google on Friday released Picasa for linux. I dont have the URI available but google will surely show you the way.

I downloaded and installed on my Fedora Core 3 box. Seamless ran immeadiately. Much of the functionality of the Windows version is there. Very Impressive configuration.

If they keep this up they wont need a googleOS just a google configuration. Control the layer abvove the OS. An interesting concept.
